Mitate

Mitate, born 1953, an ink wash painter. Real Name: Kiyotaka Fujii Born in Kyoto, Mitate currently lives in Kyoto. He began ink wash painting around 1992. He is a former member of Nihon Nangain and has won five times. His pursuit for chance operational works of mitate-e or allegorical paintings (mujinzo or infinity paintings) began around 1999, focused on unintended movements to remove the author’s will. He has held 10 exhibitions both nationally and internationally; Paris in 2013 and New York in 2015. His collection of works include Meido no Annainin and Mitatee.
