MATSUUCHI Mchiko

Michiko Matsuuchi (1947-) Craftsman Began pottery in 1982. In 1982, accepted for “Hyogo Prefecture Craft Art Exhibit” (and 10 times since). In 1988, Kasuga-yaki, Rindo Kiln in Nishiwaki-shi. In 1990, received the Kyoto Mayor’s Award at “Female Pottery Artist Exhibit.” Received the Hyogo Governor’s Award twice and various Mayor’s Awards 13 times during 1991 to 1994. In 1994, received the Museum of Modern Art Award at “Hyogo Prefecture Exhibit.” In 1999, presented Flower Exhibit at Rindo Kiln, and was selected for “the 31st Nitten.” In 2001, recommended to be a member of the Habsburg Art Friendship Association. Received the Europe Culture Award at “New Century Exhibit” held by Czech Japan Contemporary Art. In 2002, the Royal Palace Art Restoration Award at the “Vienna New Century Court Art Festival 2002.” In 2003, the Newcomer Award at “Millet Friendship Association Exhibit.” In 2004, received the Art Award at “Château de Blois International Art Festival.” In 200, the Honorary Award Commemorating 40th Anniversary of Normalization of Japan-Korea Diplomatic Relationship at “3rd Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival.” In 2006, “7th Japan-France-China Contemporary Art World Exhibit.” In 2007, the Andre Drouillard Family Artistic Grand Prize at “2nd France-Japan Eternal Glory Festival.” In 2008, “9th Japan-France Contemporary Art World Exhibit,” the Ranelagh Award at “Art Festival Commemorating 150th Anniversary of Japan-France Exchange” (Paris), the Grand Prize at “Japan-France Tricolor Collection Festival.” In 2010, special recommendation for “41st France Art Award Exhibit.” In 2012, accepted for “Nihon Shinkogei Exhibit” (8th time). In 2013, the Excellence Award at “Millet Friendship Association Exhibit.” Currently a member of Hyogo Prefecture Craft Artist Association, Himeji-shi Art Association, Habsburg Art Friendship Association, Museo del Prado Foundation Association and Kobe Cultural Council, as well as an instructor for the Ureshino Life University Pottery Club.
