MIYAMOTO Kei

MIYAMOTO Kei (1931-) Western-style painter. Born in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. Currently resides in Hyogo Prefecture. Born Miyamoto Akiyoshi. Leader of Mizue Koyokai. Creator of soft graphs and PC pictures. Judge for children's and students' picture exhibitions. Judge for elderly people’s art exhibitions. Picture therapy researcher and practitioner (correction facilities, truant students, voluntary shut-ins, bullying, violent children and students) (support for the independence of developmentally disabled people). He mainly paints scenes with bridges and waterfront landscapes of countries in Europe, Baltic countries, Canada, and Oceania. Has traveled to more than 50 countries in order to research rivers and bridges. He has exhibited at personal exhibitions and group exhibitions 30 times. In 2007, he was awarded “Medal of Blue Ribbon” in the activity of sandpainting therapy 2019, charity “Exhibition of Sandpainting” was held for supporting the disaster happened in West Japan (Chiba), and expanded the restoration assistance. The spread of sandpainting therapy was spurred. Moreover, He conducts formative guidance at kindergartens, elementary schools, junior high schools, nursery schools, and citizens’ courses, and teaches painting for parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren. He also conducts various activities such as lessons on creative activities (particularly activation of the right brain) for elderly people.
