MOTOIKE Hozen

MOTOIKE Hozen (1950-) Western-style painter. Born in Tottori Prefecture. Currently resides in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture. Born Motoike Kazumi. Graduated from the design department of Musashino Art University. After working as a designer, he decided to become a full-fledged painter around the age of 30. In 1987 “Bokka” received a new-face award at Genten. Around 2000 he changed to abstract forms. In 2003 “Madobe” received the Prix de la Porte Lyons at a beauty revolution exhibition in Paris. In 2004 “Mon” received an award for excellence and a press kit award at a Germany-Netherlands-Belgium art exhibition. Presented “System 05” to the Thai royal family in 2005. In 2008 “Idiatone” received a Nihon Bijutsu Sensho grand prize. In 2012 “Shift” received an award for excellence at Kokubi Geijutsuten. Member of Gendai Bijutsuka Kyokai. Member of the Japan Artists Association.
