Shozan Nishino: Born in 1935 in Hyogo Prefecture, he is a calligrapher. He enrolled in a private art school run by Seirin Kitagaki. He graduated from the Faculty of Buddhism at Bukkyo University where he studied calligraphy from the second year. He has been selected 14 times for the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (fellow member) and was awarded the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon. He is a counselor of the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition, a member of the Examining Meeting, a member of the Prize Selection Committee, has been nominated as an honorary member of Sogen Calligraphy, is an advisor of the Association of Japanese Poets and Writers, a counselor of the ART JODO Association, a counselor of Koyasan Calligraphy Association, a lecturer at the NHK Culture Center (Kyoto), a Chairperson of the Art Calligraphy Academy of Japan, an instructor of Humane Studies at Bukkyo University, a professor of Chinese Language and Literature at Northeast Normal University, and a school education supervisor of the Board of Education of Yoka-cho. His former priesthood name is Yoshimasa.
