TADA Kouson

TADA Kouson(1936-) Calligrapher. Born in Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture. Currently resides in Ichinoseki City. Graduated from Hosei University. Studied under Bokushinkai's Umezu Meijo and Konno Unjo. Completed a correspondence lettering course at Tokyo Design School and a Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture-authorized social correspondence course on the basics of calligraphy. Received a Bokushin second prize at Zenkoku Kobo Bokushinten in 1987, a Bokushin grand prize and Ichinoseki City mayor’s award in 1988, and was recommended as a judge. In 1990 he received a special award at Tokyo Shosakuten and was recommended as a commissioned artist. After that he received awards at exhibitions such as Iwate no Shodo Senbatsu 100-ninten, Gennichi Shoten, and International Kakyo Calligraphy Exhibition, and then in 2005 at Aki Zenkoku Shoten he received a Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology incentive award and his works were put in the Aki Calligraphy Art Museum collection. In 2010 he exhibited at Gendai Shodoten (2nd Europe exhibition) and was requested by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Croatia to put works in its collection. Held the commemorative calligraphy exhibition of the 77th anniversary of his birth (personal exhibition) in 2012. Currently a member of the judges for Tokyo Shosakuten, a member of the judges for and belongs to Aki Zenkoku Shoten, Gennichikai (coterie and member of committee for compiling new works), member of Nihon Ranteikai, councilor for Iwate Nippo Shoten, director and member of the judges for Ichinoseki Shodo Kyokai, and serves as a calligraphy instructor in the Top Wellness Ichinoseki.

Kenzan Kaiko. Received a Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology incentive award at the 2005 Aki Zenkoku Shoten. In the collection of the Aki Calligraphy Art Museum.
