TAKEUCHI Kunio Stone sculptor. Born in Aichi Prefecture. Currently resides in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture. Studied under Suzuki Masao. Since 1967 he has presented many works, mainly at personal exhibitions in places such as Nagoya, Kanazawa, Tokyo, and Osaka. Uses stone sculptures rooted in Japan’s traditions and climate and modern forms of Japan’s traditional beauty that are the pride of Japanese people, and takes on major tasks of how to create things. Installed a stone image at Okazaki Municipal Mikawa Junior High School in 1985. In 1997, installed a stone sculpture at Nagoyaka House Sanjo, a special elderly nursing home in Nagoya. In 2000, received a Nikkei Shimbun Shijo Gallery 20th century grand prize art grand prize. In 2001, exhibited at the 6th Musashino Art Festival, received a ONE art grand prize at International Art Exhibition ONE (Cashman Field Center in Las Vegas), and installed a stone sculpture at Meito Art Museum in Nagakute City. In 2002, installed a stone sculpture at Otoshiyori Sukoyaka Center North Building, which is a care and health facility for elderly people in Osaka City. The same year, was invited to exhibit at Japan Art Association Exhibition. In 2008, published a collection of works titled “Kurashi no naka no sekicho.” Was introduced twice on Tokai Television news. In 2011, held a personal exhibition at the Matsuzakaya store in Nagoya. Many works are included in collections at places such as hospitals, schools, homes for the elderly, country clubs, and by individual collectors. Representative works include “Ten ni inoru,” “Yorisou futari,” and “Sannin sanyo.” Currently unaffiliated.
