Misho Tsukamoto born in 1953, calligrapher and curator. Born in Kyoto. Currently lives in Kyoto. His autonym is Yaichiro. His father Yataro is a master of Aiseki school, and his first son Miseki the lawyer (while being a student at the University of Tokyo) and second son and certified public accountant, Misei (while being a student at Kobe University), both awarded the Kyoto Prefectural Governor's Award at Zennichiten Exhibition. His older sister, Ayako Tsuruta, is also an artist with her suiboku ink work selected for Nitten. His uncle Suejiro is a great master of calligraphy and studied under Goseki Nishiwaki. His skill was recognized in China in 1992, and he worked on a collaborative piece for Japan-China Friendship with the executive of Jilin Provincial Calligraphy Association. In 1995, he is certified as a master in 6 months at Nihon Kyoiku Shodo Geijutsuin (School of Japanese Calligraphy Education). Since then, he has received numerous awards beyond different schools, including “Tokyo Shosakuten”, “Bunka Shodoten”, “Gendai Rinshoten”, “Sankei International Calligraphy Exhibition”, and “Zennichiten.” With his unique sense of art, his work continued to inspire each calligraphy exhibition. In 2000, he held a calligraphy ceremony at Tokyo Budokan. Misho himself is 6th Dan in Karate. In addition to martial arts officials such as Judo and Kyokushin Kaikan, he is requested to provide calligraphy for many different fields including Kanji Kentei, corporations, politicians, singers, Shingon buddhism, Tenrikyo, Soto buddhism, and Muslims from Paris. Every year since 2008, he visits provinces of China for cultural exchange and providing calligraphy, and is awarded by Li Gonglin's School of Calligraphy, Qian Juntao Art Research Museum, and Pujiang Art Gallery. Awarded by the Mayor of Moscow. Made the calligraphy of summarized vision of the School of Education, University of Hawaii. Held a solo exhibition in Kyoto and Kobe. Provided the title calligraphy of the book by Misei Tsukamoto, “Kaikei Kansa” - dedicated to accountants who know nothing about audits. Currently serving as a judge, advisor, and lecturer at each calligraphy organization, as well as private calligrapher for the family of Saigo Takamori, Nihon Shodo Gakuin (Japan School of Calligraphy) honorary lecturer, Nagshima Shodo Kyoshitsu (Calligarphy School) chief advisor, Chairman of Tenkoku Aun no Kai, and director of Japan Shinkan Association. Awarded Kenju Hosho (medal of honor) and All Japan Cultural Contribution Award.
